Who we are
Locktune is a mobile automotive locksmith and remapping business based in Maidenhead, Berkshire. We come to you, covering Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and London. What this website collects
This website is for information only. It has no contact forms, no user accounts, no analytics and no advertising tracking, and we do not set any cookies. The site is hosted by Fasthosts (Fasthosts Internet Ltd, UK), and Cloudflare provides security and content delivery (CDN) for it. Both may keep basic technical logs (such as IP addresses and the pages requested) to run and secure the site, and Cloudflare may process this information outside the UK. Cloudflare may also set a strictly necessary security cookie if it needs to check for automated or malicious traffic.
Links on this site open your phone, WhatsApp, email app, Instagram or Facebook. Once you leave this site, those services’ own privacy policies apply.
Information you send us
When you call, WhatsApp, email or message us on Instagram or Facebook, we receive the information you choose to give us. This usually includes:
- your name and contact details (phone number, email address or social media profile)
- your vehicle’s make, model, year and registration
- your location, so we can come to you
- details of the job, and any photos you send
How we use it
- to reply to your enquiry and give you a quote
- to arrange and carry out the work you ask for
- to keep records we need for accounts, tax and dealing with any questions about a job
We do not sell your information or use it for marketing without your permission.
Our lawful basis
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) we rely on:
- Contract: to take the steps you ask for before agreeing a job, and to carry out the work
- Legitimate interests: to answer general enquiries and keep sensible business records
- Legal obligation: to keep financial records we’re required to keep
Who we share it with
We only share your information where needed to run the business, for example with our phone and WhatsApp providers, email provider, Meta (if you contact us on Instagram or Facebook), our accountant, where needed for tax and accounting, or where the law requires it. Some of these providers may store data outside the UK; where they do, they are responsible for using appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry messages for up to 12 months, unless they lead to a job. Where we do carry out work, we keep job and invoice records for 6 years, in line with HMRC record-keeping requirements.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to ask for it to be transferred. To make a request, call 07367 388091 or email [email protected]. We’ll respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example if we add new features or tracking to the site. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
